SECTION B MOVIE DIRECTOR CAMPAIGNS FOR SUSAN BOYLE

The producer/director of the upcoming film SECTION B, still wants Susan Boyle. Regardless of the outcome of “Britain’s Got Talent”, director Darla Rae is holding open the role of “Lucy” in SECTION B for Susan. “We will campaign for Susan to accept the role.” said Rae. “This is an opportunity for Susan to get her feet wet with a small role in an ensemble cast. Film-it Productions is absolutely aware of contractual obligations between Susan and the show “Britain’s Got Talent”; however SECTION B will shoot after the show’s finale and our offer still stands. Our offer would not impact Susan other than by giving her a positive increase financially, and a professional acting credit under her belt.”

A “Britain’s Got Talent” spokesperson was quoted as saying “We thought it was odd that they went directly to her.” But to Darla Rae, it wasn’t an odd move at all. “As a filmmaker you have to be creative and entrepreneurial.” says Rae. “In this business, you’ve got to go outside the box. We went to Susan directly, because we wanted her to know that we desired to have her join the cast. It has been my experience that many times talent never even sees your offer. In this case, we did make contact both with the show and Susan personally. As a director and producer, it is my job to field the best cast possible for the production and in the case of SECTION B; Susan will round it out beautifully.

The SECTION B cast already includes Cyndi Lauper, Tippi Hedren, Marla Maples, Ace Young (“American Idol” Season 5 finalist) and “America’s Got Talent” finalist, Queen Emily David. SECTION B supervising cinematographer is William “Billy“ Fraker, whose work has been nominated 6 times for Academy Awards.

YOUTUBE SENSATION SUSAN BOYLE OFFERED MOVIE ROLE

Award winning Colorado filmmaker Darla Rae has reached out to offer “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant and overnight Internet sensation Susan Boyle, a part in the feature film SECTION B. SECTION B (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1008037/) is now in pre-production with a cast and crew including music icon Cyndi Lauper, award winning actress Tippi Hedren, actress/model Marla Maples, Maples daughter Tiffany Trump (in her acting debut), ‘America’s Got Talent’ finalist Queen Emily David, Steven Parker (ER, Juno) and legendary cinematographer William ”Billy” Fraker (Tombstone, Rosemary’s Baby).

SECTION B is a dramatic comedy about Baby Boomers who put their lives on hold to chase their dreams. In the film, a group of “over the hill’ wannabe actors give up everything to realize their dreams and attend a prestigious acting academy. Once there, they meet their biggest nemesis – youth. It is a family feature film appealing to all generations and encourages viewers of all ages to never give up on their dream. It’s based on the real life story of producer Darla Rae’s experience at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, in Los Angeles.

Rae says “Susan Boyle’s real life story is exactly what the movie Section B is about - chasing your dream no matter what. And I understand her completely, because our stories are almost identical. I promised my ill mother who passed away that I wouldn’t give up my dream of making films. So at age 47 I wrote, directed, and produced my first feature film, The Goal. We went on to win awards, and now we’re getting ready to shoot Section B with some amazing talent. When Susan stepped onto the stage and began to sing, tears welled up in my eyes. As I watched her, I felt a connection and realized she’d be perfect for one of the roles in Section B. We have an original song titled “Don’t Lose the Vision” that would be a perfect duet for Susan and her American counterpart, Queen Emily David from “America’s Got Talent”. Susan studied at Edinburgh Acting School in the early '90s but was forced to leave and care for her sick mother. I’d love to help her finally fulfill her dream of being an actress! We’ve even sent offers through the local Pub manager where Susan Boyle sings Karaoke. Hopefully our offer will reach her and you’ll see her on the silver screen soon.”
